The Health division of Wolters Kluwer announced today that physicians can now use UpToDate to meet American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) requirements. The new feature saves clinicians time and simplifies the process of meeting MOC requirements for board recertification.
Now, CME credits clinicians earn from using UpToDate can be used to fulfill their MOC point requirements. Using a simple step-by-step process, physicians can submit ABIM MOC points directly to the ABIM through the UpToDate website.
“Wolters Kluwer supports lifelong learning to ensure physicians always rely on the most current treatment recommendations to care for their patients,” said Peter Bonis, MD, CMO of Clinical Effectiveness at Wolters Kluwer. “Now, by using UpToDate to answer clinical questions as they arise in day-to-day practice, physicians are also contributing to their overall MOC requirements.”

American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) Program
Successful completion of this CME activity, which includes participation in the evaluation component, enables the participant to earn up to 0.5 MOC points per Internet point-of-care activity in the American Board of Internal Medicine’s (ABIM) Maintenance of Certification (MOC) program. Participants will earn MOC points equivalent to the amount of CME credits claimed for the activity. It is the CME activity provider’s responsibility to submit participant completion information to ACCME for the purpose of granting ABIM MOC credit.
